Training and education is at the heart of everything that we do, and we are very clear in our ambition to provide high quality care. Yorhealth provides nurse-led complex care services for children and young people aged 0-25 yrs in the community. The Specialist Training Programme has been developed for Children’s Healthcare Support Workers, in their role as HCA’s, who work predominantly with child and young people with complex health care needs. The programme is delivered by Specialist Registered Practitioners from a Child, Learning Disability and Therapy background with extensive experience.
The programme utilised a competency-based approach and the aims and outcomes of the programme will enable PAs to develop knowledge and skills required to maintain high standards of care and association of risk and anomalies affecting the child and young person.
This approach will then be applied to developing the HCA’s clinical-practical knowledge and skills in the development which underpin key specialist competency-based interventions required to support the child or young person. The training that we offer is not limited to our own workforce, for example we can provide training for PA’s and case managers.
Your training at Yorhealth will include;
- Administration of Medicines including controlled medications.
- Enteral Feeding, care and management of PEG and JEJ
- Moving and Handling including hoist experience.
- Level 3 Safeguarding Children and Young Adults
- Infection Prevention
- Clinical Governance
- Recognition and assessment of a deteriorating child.
- O2 administration and Pulse oximetry
- Tracheostomy Care and Management
- Domiciliary Ventilation
- BLS
